Warm Audio Reamper – All-Analog Guitar Reamp & Studio Signal Conversion Device with Independent Preamp
OVERVIEW
The Warm Audio Reamper takes conventional re-amping considerably further, functioning as a comprehensive analogue routing hub for modern recording environments. It allows dry guitar and bass tracks to be sent from a DAW through real tube amplifiers, while also providing the flexibility to integrate guitar pedals into line-level studio chains or route studio processors into guitar, bass and synthesizer signal paths. Fully independent preamp and re-amp paths, custom CineMag input and output transformers and separate gain controls provide precise control over signal flow and gain staging, while the variable impedance control lets the unit accommodate a wide range of instruments and sources.
The instrument preamp can be switched between a discrete JFET stage for a warmer, more vintage character and an Op-Amp setting when a cleaner response is preferred. The Reamper also provides separate Preamp Out, Reamp Out and Instrument Out routing, allowing engineers to capture multiple signal paths simultaneously or retain a dry “bail-out” signal for later processing. Its flexible connectivity makes it possible to move effortlessly between DAW tracks, instruments, pedals, amplifiers and outboard studio equipment without repeatedly rebuilding the signal chain.
For tube-amplifier recording, the Reamper incorporates a built-in 50W/8 Ω resistive power soak that allows compatible tube amps to be recorded silently without a speaker cabinet. When using the silent-recording function, an impulse response can be applied in the DAW to recreate an accurate cabinet and “amp in the room” character. When the THRU connection is connected to a speaker cabinet, the amplifier can instead be routed to the cabinet without the Reamper imposing power or impedance limits in that configuration.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS
Complete Analogue Reamping & Studio Routing Hub
The Reamper combines re-amping, instrument preamplification, effects integration and amplifier routing in a single analogue device, allowing guitars, pedals, amplifiers, synthesizers, DAWs and studio processors to work together in configurations that would otherwise require considerably more equipment.
Independent Preamp & Re-Amp Signal Paths
Separate preamp and re-amp paths provide greater control over gain staging and routing. Dedicated output controls allow the engineer to establish appropriate levels for both studio equipment and amplifier inputs independently.
CineMag Transformer-Coupled Signal Paths
Custom CineMag input and output transformers are incorporated into the signal paths, helping preserve source character while providing the appropriate signal conversion for different studio, instrument and amplifier environments.
Variable Instrument Input Impedance
A continuously variable 120 kΩ–1 MΩ input impedance control allows the Reamper to be matched to different instruments and pickups, providing greater control over response and helping avoid unwanted noise or tonal loading.
Switchable JFET & Op-Amp Preamp Character
The instrument preamp can be switched between a discrete JFET stage for warmer, more vintage-inspired character and an Op-Amp setting for a cleaner gain response, giving engineers two distinct approaches to shaping the direct signal.
Built-In 50W/8 Ω Silent Power Soak
The integrated resistive load allows compatible tube amplifiers rated up to 50W at 8 Ω to be recorded silently without a speaker cabinet, making it possible to capture cranked tube-amp tones at practical studio levels.
Parallel & “Dry Bail-Out” Recording
The flexible routing architecture allows a processed amplifier signal and a dry signal to be captured simultaneously, providing the freedom to revisit amp, pedal and processing choices during mixing rather than committing to a single sound during tracking.
Guitar, Pedal, Synth & Line-Level Integration
The Reamper is not limited to guitars. It can integrate guitar pedals into studio line-level chains, studio processors into instrument paths, and synthesizers or other line-level sources into creative effects configurations.
Ground-Lift & Phase Controls
Ground-lift functionality helps address hum and buzz caused by ground loops, while phase/polarity controls provide additional flexibility when combining multiple signal paths or microphones and amplifiers.

Power Soak & Silent Recording
Power Soak: Built-in 8 Ω resistive load rated at 50W maximum for silent tube-amp recording.
Silent Recording: Allows compatible tube amplifiers up to 50W at 8 Ω to be recorded without connecting a speaker cabinet, using the built-in power soak.
THRU / Speaker Cabinet: When THRU is connected to a speaker cabinet, the amplifier signal is passed to the cabinet, with no power or impedance limits imposed by the Reamper in this configuration.
Higher-Powered Amplifiers: For amplifiers exceeding the 50W silent-recording limit, an appropriate speaker load must be connected via THRU when using the AMP-IN feature.
Bridged Amplifiers: Do not connect bridged amplifiers to the Reamper.
Cabinet Simulation: The Reamper does not provide cabinet simulation; for silent recording, use an Impulse Response (IR) in the DAW to recreate an accurate “amp in the room” response.
