Neumann KH 350 – Three-Way DSP-Powered Midfield Monitor [SINGLE]
OVERVIEW
The Neumann KH 350 brings true midfield monitoring capability to the KH-Line, combining powerful low-frequency extension, enormous headroom and tightly controlled dispersion with the accuracy expected from a professional reference monitor. Optimised for listening distances of 1.2–3.0 metres (4–10 ft), it is equally capable in closer nearfield applications where greater low-frequency authority and directivity control are beneficial. Its bass-reflex design extends the response down to 30 Hz ±3 dB, while the monitor achieves a passband free-field response of 32 Hz–20 kHz at ±1.25 dB. Tight manufacturing tolerances provide consistent unit-to-unit matching, supporting predictable performance in multi-monitor installations and reliable translation across playback systems.
The KH 350’s Mathematically Modelled Dispersion (MMD) waveguide shapes the acoustic radiation for precise and consistent directivity, helping maintain stable imaging while reducing unwanted room reflections. Neumann’s proven midrange and tweeter platform provides high-resolution midrange performance and precise vocal definition, while the three-way architecture separates the frequency range at 700 Hz and 1.7 kHz. The integrated DSP platform provides 32-bit audio processing with 64-bit double precision, linear-phase FIR correction and MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment for highly accurate frequency and phase optimisation in the listening environment.
Analogue electronically balanced XLR connectivity is complemented by AES3id digital input and output via 75 Ω BNC, allowing the KH 350 to integrate seamlessly with Neumann KH subwoofers, monitor control solutions and network-enabled systems. The monitor is suited to music production, mixing and mastering, broadcast, post-production, film-score work and stereo, multichannel and immersive formats including Dolby Atmos®. Its consistent tonal character allows it to be combined with other KH-Line monitors in immersive configurations.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS
Full-Range Authority from Nearfield to Midfield
The KH 350 combines the output capability, low-frequency authority and directivity control required for true midfield monitoring while remaining highly effective at shorter nearfield distances. It is optimised for medium-sized rooms and listening distances of 1.2–3.0 metres, with a feasible listening range extending from 0.75–6.0 metres according to the published specifications.
Controlled Directivity with MMD Waveguide
Neumann’s Mathematically Modelled Dispersion waveguide shapes the sound radiation to provide precise and consistent dispersion throughout the room. This helps maintain stable imaging and significantly reduces unwanted reflections, supporting reliable monitoring at longer listening distances as well as in nearfield setups.
Deep and Powerful Low-Frequency Extension
The bass-reflex design provides substantial headroom and extended low-frequency response, reaching down to 30 Hz ±3 dB. This gives the KH 350 the full-range authority required for critical low-frequency decisions without immediately requiring a subwoofer.
High-Resolution Midrange Performance
The KH 350 combines Neumann’s proven midrange/tweeter platform with the MMD waveguide to provide controlled midrange directivity and precise vocal definition. Its three-way architecture provides dedicated drivers for the low, mid and high-frequency ranges, supporting detailed and confident monitoring decisions.
Advanced DSP & MA 1 Alignment
The integrated DSP engine provides sophisticated signal processing and supports Neumann’s MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment. MA 1 can optimise frequency and phase response to the acoustic characteristics of the room, helping achieve consistent monitoring accuracy in stereo, multichannel and immersive installations.
Exceptional Linearity & Consistency
Tight manufacturing tolerances provide highly consistent unit-to-unit matching and predictable performance across multi-monitor installations. The KH 350 achieves ±0.8 dB free-field frequency linearity deviation between 100 Hz and 10 kHz, supporting accurate translation across different playback systems.
Seamless Digital Studio Integration
The KH 350 provides balanced analogue XLR connectivity alongside AES3id digital input and output via 75 Ω BNC. This allows integration with digital studio systems, Neumann monitor control solutions and compatible KH subwoofers, providing a scalable path from stereo through to immersive monitoring systems.
Designed for Immersive Monitoring
The KH 350 is designed for stereo, multichannel and immersive monitoring environments, including Dolby Atmos® and other spatial-audio workflows. Its controlled directivity, precise imaging, vertical driver alignment and high output capability make it particularly well suited to professional immersive production.
