Bettermaker Stereo Passive Equalizer Limited Edition: Legendary Analog EQ Meets Modern DAW Workflow
A Special Edition of a Modern Passive-EQ Classic
To celebrate sales of more than 1,000 Stereo Passive Equalizers, Bettermaker has created an exclusive Stereo Passive Equalizer (SPE) Limited Edition. It combines the established sound and workflow of the SPE with an exclusive appearance, a new plugin featuring a saturation engine, premium carrying bag and Bettermaker certificate of quality.

100% Analog Where It Matters
At the heart of the SPE is a 100% analog audio signal path based around passive EQ filters, precisely matched capacitors and inductors. The result is the kind of broad, musical tonal shaping associated with high-end passive equalizers, with substantial low-frequency control and an open, extended top end. The high-boost section reaches all the way to 28 kHz, giving engineers additional scope for adding air and openness.
Digital Control Without Digital Audio Processing
The key to the SPE‘s workflow is that the audio remains analog while the controls are managed digitally. A dedicated high-speed 32-bit microcontroller handles parameter control, the user interface and USB communication, allowing the hardware to combine analog processing with precise digital recall and automation.

Fast Recall and DAW Automation
Through its dedicated plugin and USB connection, the SPE can communicate directly with a DAW. Engineers can make rapid and repeatable adjustments, precisely link the stereo channels, reset parameters instantly and automate the available controls. Up to 32 snapshots of the hardware state can also be programmed and recalled through automation, making the unit particularly useful in mastering sessions where settings need to change from song to song.
Extended High-Frequency Control
The SPE‘s passive high-frequency section includes boost frequencies from 3 kHz through 28 kHz, including dedicated 20 kHz and 28 kHz air bands. Combined with up to 18 dB of high-frequency boost, this gives engineers broad control over presence, openness and high-frequency extension.

Powerful Low-Frequency Shaping
At the opposite end of the spectrum, the SPE provides up to 15 dB of low-frequency boost and 16 dB of cut at 100 Hz, with selectable low-frequency points of 20, 30, 60 and 100 Hz. This makes it equally useful for reinforcing weight or carefully managing low-end energy while retaining the musical character of passive filtering.
A New Saturation Dimension
The Limited Edition also introduces a new saturation engine in its plugin, giving engineers another way to shape the character of their processing beyond traditional EQ. This expands the creative possibilities of the SPE while retaining its core passive analog EQ architecture.

Built for Mastering and Hybrid Workflows
With its high maximum operating levels, 101 dB dynamic range, ±0.2 dB frequency flatness from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and precise stereo control, the SPE is designed for demanding professional applications. Its combination of analog processing and digital recall makes it particularly well suited to mastering, mix-bus processing and hybrid analog/digital studios.

Exclusive Limited Edition Package
The special edition isn’t simply a new finish. It is a celebration of the SPE‘s milestone of more than 1,000 units sold and comes with an exclusive presentation, premium-quality carrying bag and Bettermaker certificate of quality. For engineers already drawn to the SPE‘s passive analog character, it offers a distinctive version with additional plugin functionality and collectable appeal.

Analog Character. Digital Convenience.
The Bettermaker Stereo Passive Equalizer (SPE) Limited Edition brings together two traditionally opposing strengths: the musical response of passive analog equalization and the speed, repeatability and automation of digital control. The result is a mastering-grade processor that can deliver classic analog character while fitting naturally into today’s DAW-based production and mastering environment.
