The AEA FC2 is something special – a two-channel tube preamp years in the making and the latest result of a long-standing collaboration between AEA and legendary designer Fred Forssell. It represents a refined, modern take on valve preamplification, designed for engineers who value depth, realism and precision in equal measure.

The FC2 marks the tenth preamp project between AEA and Fred Forssell, a partnership that spans decades. Even the ten-sided control knobs are a nod to that history.
Drawing inspiration from the original Forssell FetCode, the FC2 has been redesigned from the ground up to meet modern studio expectations while preserving the musical integrity that made the original so respected.
Tube Warmth Without Excess Colour
Unlike many tube preamps that lean heavily into saturation and colouration, the FC2 focuses on natural warmth and dimensionality. Its cascoded hybrid topology keeps the tubes operating in their optimal range at all times, delivering a sound that is open, clean and linear – yet unmistakably rich and three-dimensional.
