Buchla Electronic Musical Instruments (BEMI), where sonic excellence, advanced musical expression, and inspiring performer/instrument interfaces form the cornerstones of the company’s product development aesthetic.

BEMI was founded on the work of synthesis pioneer and master instrument designer Donald Buchla, whose 50-year body of intellectual property was acquired by the company in 2012. In addition to keeping Don Buchla’s legacy alive with the sales and support of his pinnacle achievement, the coveted 200e Modular Synthesizer System, BEMI is actively engaged in the development of a wide range of products designed to introduce the unique world of Buchla synthesis to a whole new generation of electronic music-makers.

From its origins in Berkeley, California, to its current location on the ruggedly scenic Rogue River in Grants Pass, Oregon, BEMI is a true American synthesizer company, with the majority of components used in its instruments acquired from local suppliers, and manufacturing and assembly performed at the Grants Pass facility.
