The best of both worlds: The Wunder Audio PEQ2 has a vintage British-style mic pre/EQ with the American made transformers of the 1960’s & 70’s. The Wunder Audio Cobalt Pre has the same circuit, input transformer, and output transformer as the PEQ2. All aspects of this design from the metalwork to the components in the circuit are made to the same exacting standards as the PEQ2 simply remade for the 500 series format.

In 1971, Led Zeppelin bass and keyboard player John Paul Jones ordered a one-of-a-kind custom console, ‘The Allotrope’. Decades later, Wunder Audio has spent years in R&D resulting in dozens of improvements to the original design. The result is the Wunderbar, the PEQ2, as well as the 500 Series modules the Cobalt Pre and the Allotrope EQ.

The discrete Class-A build quality is a culmination of years of testing and development by Wunder Audio in Austin, TX. The inside is pristine, with meticulous wiring and impeccable soldering. Top-of-the-line components are used at every junction, highlighted by custom wound transformers. The transformers are made using the same custom laminations of Nickel/Iron/Cobalt that were used in the original Zeppelin modules. The transformers are so beefy they barely fit in the unit’s case.
